Black Cod's diet includes shrimp, squid, worms, and small fish. As they age, they move from mid-to-upper layers to deeper waters, with adults residing at depths of 600 to 9042 feet. These bottom-dwelling fish, living close to the seabed, are found across the North Pacific, including areas like Northern Japan, the coast of the Bering Sea near Kamchatka Peninsula, Alaska, and California.
