Beef Tripe Rumen Stomach 牛肚

Beef Tripe Rumen Stomach 牛肚

Our Beef Tripe Rumen Stomach comes from high-quality Angus cattle that are grass-fed and free-range in the UK. As an ingredient in East Asian cuisine, the cow's rumen is often referred to as "beef rumen stomach."

Unlike the other three stomachs, beef tripe has a thick texture and a chewy taste, making it suitable for hotpots, long stews, or stir-frying. It is an indispensable ingredient in various beef offal dishes.

About Beef Tripe Rumen Stomach 牛肚

Cattle possess a unique digestive system that includes four stomach chambers, each with a distinct function: the rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum. These chambers play different roles in the digestion process, allowing cattle to efficiently break down fibrous foods like grass.

The rumen is the largest of the four chambers and primarily serves to store food and initiate fermentation. It contains a vast population of microorganisms, including bacteria, protozoa, and fungi, which help break down cellulose in the food. The rumen allows food to soak in water and breaks down large molecules like cellulose, releasing nutrients that can be absorbed by the cow.
